We cover some commonly asked questions, and link to further articles about contract brewing

If you are new to contract brewing and want to know more about how it works, visit our blog

What packaging options do you offer?

We can package your beer into keg, cask or can (330ml or 440ml).

You can supply your own branded kegs or casks, or get rented ones delivered. We do accept dirty containers but will charge a cleaning fee.

Empty cans are delivered on full pallets from your chosen partner, or ask us for our recommended supplier.

If you need bottling, we work with a partner brewery. We ship your beer to them in an IBU, and the finished bottles are dispatched from their facility directly to you.

Do you brew alcohol-free beers?

Yes! We have a lot of experience with alcohol-free beers, which are definied by UK law as being 0.5% ABV or less.

We utilise our expertise with ingredients and process to make it low-alc or alc-free. This produces a much more flavourful result than  reverse osmosis.

We have brewed numerous product lines for one of the UK's leading alc-free breweries, Big Drop.

Our own alc-free IPA Green Light has won multiple medals and top awards since we launched it in 2018.

Can you make my beer gluten-free?

Absolutely! We have made all of (our own brand) Powderkeg's beers gluten-free since 2022, so we are very familiar with the process.

We use barley, which contains gluten, but add an enzyme that chops up the protein chain, making it unrecognisable to the human body as gluten. This enzyme cannot be tasted and doesn't affect the beer in any noticeable way.

We lab test all new products to ensure they hit less than 20ppm, so you will be sure that your beer is gluten-free before taking it to market.

Do you send out samples?

If you are looking to white-label beers then yes, we can send you samples of our product lines to try for yourself. See the range and get in touch through the form on our Shortcut To Success page.

What are the labelling options for cans?

We have trusted labelling suppliers that we can recommend.

Most people use PP for their labels, a durable plastic that adheres in wet conditions with no affects. Available in white, clear or silver.

There is a fossil-fuel-free alternative called Forest Film, available in white or clear. It's a bio-plastic made from by products of the wood/ paper industry that performs exactly the same as the PP, but with a much lower carbon footprint.

If a clear Forest Film is used on a silver can, it produces a foiled effect that works well for small areas of metallic colour.

Labels must be supplied prior to canning as labelling is integrated into the canning process.

How much beer can fit on a pallet?

330ml cans = 2280 (190 x cases of 12)

440ml cans = 1824 (152 cases of 12)

30l kegs = 24 (except certain one-way kegs)

50l kegs =  12

9g casks = 18

Mixed pallets on a case by case basis
